Geometric Shape

This section introduces the basic geometric shapes available in the iCraft system resources.

Basic geometric shapes are the foundation for building 3D scenes. By combining these simple shapes, deforming them, and adjusting their materials, you can quickly construct building frameworks, office furniture, and even prototypes of complex industrial equipment.

In the Basic Resources Panel, we provide six fundamental geometric primitives. They are not only tools for scene construction but also highly flexible parametric models.

Cube

The Cube is a basic six-sided solid commonly used for creating floors, bases, walls, containers, and building structures.

Special Parameters

  • Length The size of the cube along the X-axis (left to right), determining the horizontal dimension.

    Default value: 1

    Adjustable range: 0.1 ~ unlimited

  • Width The size of the cube along the Z-axis (front to back), determining the depth of the cube. Default value: 1

    Adjustable range: 0.1 ~ unlimited

  • Height The size of the cube along the Y-axis (bottom to top), determining the vertical dimension. Default value: 1

    Adjustable range: 0.1 ~ unlimited

  • Radius Defines the radius used to round the cube’s edges. A larger radius produces smoother edges, while a value of 0 results in a standard sharp-edged cube. Default value: 0

    Adjustable range: 0 ~10

  • Radius Segments The number of line segments used to simulate the rounded edge arc. More segments create smoother corners, while fewer segments produce visible polygonal edges.

    Default value: 2

    Adjustable range: 1 ~ 10

  • Stroke Toggle to determine whether edge outlines are displayed on the cube surface. Default: Off

  • Stroke Color Select the color of the outline using the color picker.

  • Border Line Width Adjusts the thickness of the outline.

    Default value: 0.03

    Adjustable range: 0 ~ 0.1

Sphere

The Sphere is a perfectly round shape, suitable for decorative objects, planet models, or rounded components.

Special Parameters

  • Radius The distance from the sphere’s center to any point on its surface, determining the overall size.

    Default value: 0.5

    Adjustable range: 0.1 ~ 10

  • Width Segments The number of segments along the sphere’s equatorial direction, affecting horizontal smoothness.

    Default value: 64

    Adjustable range: 3 ~ 64

  • Height Segments The number of segments along the north–south axis of the sphere, affecting vertical smoothness. Default value: 64

    Adjustable range: 3 ~ 64

  • Stroke Toggle to determine whether edge outlines are displayed on the sphere surface. Default: Off

  • Stroke Color Select the color of the outline using the color picker.

  • Border Line Width Adjusts the thickness of the outline.

    Default value: 0.03

    Adjustable range: 0 ~ 0.1

Prism

The Prism is a polygonal column by default, ideal for decorative pillars or special architectural components.

Special Parameters

  • Radius The distance from the center of the prism’s base polygon to any vertex (circumscribed circle radius).

    Default value: 0.5

    Adjustable range: 0.01 ~ unlimited

  • Height Defines the height of the prism. Greater height results in a more slender shape.

    Default value: 1

    Adjustable range: 0.01 ~ unlimited

  • Radial Segments Determines the number of sides of the prism. The minimum shape is triangular prism. More segments make the shape closer to a cylinder.

    Default value: 8

    Adjustable range: 3 ~ 12

  • Stroke Toggle to determine whether edge outlines are displayed on the prism surface. Default: Off

  • Stroke Color Select the color of the outline using the color picker.

  • Border Line Width Adjusts the thickness of the outline.

    Default value: 0.03

    Adjustable range: 0 ~ 0.1

Cylinder

The Cylinder is a common geometric primitive widely used for columns, pipes, and structural components.

Special Parameters

  • Top Radius The radius of the circular top face.

    Default value: 0.5

    Adjustable range: 0.01 ~ unlimited

  • Bottom Radius The radius of the circular bottom face. If the top and bottom radii are equal, the shape is a standard cylinder. If they are different, the shape is a truncated cone. If one radius is 0.01,the shape is a cone.

    Default value: 0.5

    Adjustable range: 0.01 ~ unlimited

  • Height Determines the height of the cylinder.

    Default value: 1

    Adjustable range: 0.01 ~ unlimited

  • Radial Segments Controls the smoothness of the cylinder’s side surface.

    Default value: 32

    Adjustable range: 3 ~ 64

  • Stroke Toggle to determine whether edge outlines are displayed on the cylinder surface. Default: Off

  • Stroke Color Select the color of the outline using the color picker.

  • Border Line Width Adjusts the thickness of the outline.

    Default value: 0.03

    Adjustable range: 0 ~ 0.1

Cone

The Cone is commonly used for arrows, tower tops, and tree shapes (such as pine trees).

Special Parameters

  • Radius The radius of the circular base.

    Default value: 0.5

    Adjustable range: 0.1 ~ 10

  • Height Determines the height of the cone.

    Default value: 1

    Adjustable range: 0.1 ~ 10

  • Segments Controls the smoothness of the cone’s side surface. More segments means smoother surface, fewer segments means visible polygonal edges. When the value is 3, the cone becomes a triangular pyramid.

    Default value: 32

    Adjustable range: 3 ~ 64

  • Stroke Toggle to determine whether edge outlines are displayed on the cone surface. Default: Off

  • Stroke Color Select the color of the outline using the color picker.

  • Border Line Width Adjusts the thickness of the outline.

    Default value: 0.03

    Adjustable range: 0 ~ 0.1

Torus

The Torus is commonly used to create lifebuoys, ring-shaped devices, halos, or connectors in futuristic scenes.

Special Parameters

  • Radius The main radius of the torus (distance from the center of the hole to the center of the tube). Larger values create a larger hollow center.

    Default value: 0.35

    Adjustable range: 0.1 ~ 10

  • Tube Radius The radius of the tube forming the torus. Larger values create a thicker ring.

    Default value: 0.15

    Adjustable range: 0.05 ~ 5

  • Radial Segments The number of segments around the main radius of the torus, affecting the smoothness of its outer shape.

    Default value: 16

    Adjustable range: 3 ~ 64

  • Tube Segments The number of segments along the tube radius, affecting the smoothness of the tube surface. Default value: 32

    Adjustable range: 3 ~ 128

  • Arc Angle The angle covered by the torus, determining whether it forms a full ring or an open arc. Values below 360° create an open arc or ring segment.

    Default value: 360° (complete ring)

    Adjustable range: 5° ~ 360°

  • Stroke Toggle to determine whether edge outlines are displayed on the torus surface. Default: Off

  • Stroke Color Select the color of the outline using the color picker.

  • Border Line Width Adjusts the thickness of the outline.

    Default value: 0.03

    Adjustable range: 0 ~ 0.1
